BREAST LIFTING
Loss of skin elasticity, gravity and other factors such as weight loss, pregnancy and breast-feeding ultimately affect the shape and firmness of your breasts. Patients who are generally satisfied with the size of their breasts can have a breast lift to raise and firm them, resulting in a more youthful breast contour. The big areolars or protruded nipples can be corrected at the same time. Some patients may be unhappy that they have lost a significant amount of breast volume over time. In such cases, implants inserted in conjunction with a breast lift can increase breast size at the same time as the shape and position of the breasts are enhanced.
How is a Breast Lift Performed?
The breast lift surgical procedure may be performed under intravenous sedation with local anesthesia in an office surgical suite. You will sleep well during the procedure. Your time in surgery is typically 3 hours.
The degree of lift needed generally will determine the number and length of incisions. The more lift you need, the more likely you will need more extensive incisions. One surgical technique for breast lift involves three incisions that form an anchor shape (“anchor incision”). During this technique, the first incision is made around the areola, extending above it and creating a new position for the nipple. The second incision runs vertically from the nipple down to the bottom of the breast. The third incision, if necessary, runs along the underside of the breast, just above the fold beneath the breast.
For some patients, other incision techniques may be appropriate. The “lollipop lift” involves one incision around the perimeter of the areola and another that runs vertically from the areola to the breast crease. During a “donut lift,” your surgeon crafts an incision around the perimeter of the areola. This technique is also called a periareolar lift or a “Benelli” lift. A “crescent lift” involves an incision just along the upper half of the areola and is usually done with breast augmentation. Your choice of breast lift technique should take into account your degree of breast sagging and should be made after a through consultation with your surgeon.
Regardless of the incision technique, the incisions create flaps where excess skin is removed. Excess skin may also be removed as the nipple and areola are moved to a higher location on the breast. The nipple is normally positioned so that it will be even (vertically) with the lower crease between the breast and chest. When the nipple is raised to its new location, the skin that was previously above the nipple is brought down around the nipple and sutured together under it. The nipple and areola remain connected to the underlying breast tissue and the associated nerve and blood supply, reducing the chances of sensation loss.
Grade A: Nipples are on the line or are slightly lower than the line (within 1cm).
Grade B: Nipples are 1-3 cm lower than the line, but are above undermost breast tissues.
Grade C: Severe saggy breasts where nipples are more than 3 cm lower than the line and nipples completely head to the bottom.
Surgery Method 1
Areola Incision Method for a bit sagging breats
This method incises around the areola and removes some breast tissues.
Reduces skin and breast tissues, and moves nipples up to the wanted position. There are less scars and nerve damage.
Surgery Method 2
Lollipop Incision Method for Severe Sagging Breats
This method incises around the areola and to the line below breasts like lollipop shaped line.
Reduces breast tissues, fat and skin and moves the nipple up. It is effective for severely saggy cases.

Surgery Method
Breast fold+Areola Incision Method
This method incises saggy breast and inserts implants.
Corrects saggy breasts with breast lifting and increases breast size with implants. One can adjust the position as well. Breast fold + Areola incision method is often used.
Breast Lift with Implants
If you are getting breast implants during the surgery, they can be placed:
- immediately behind the breast (subglandular placement)
- behind the breast and the major muscle groups in the chest area (complete submuscular placement)
- behind the breast and pectoralis major muscle — this is the most common location for implants (partial submuscular placement)
After Breast Lift Surgery
Because skin is removed and tissue is moved around, the breasts will be bruised, sore and swollen after your breast lift. You can expect to wear bandages for several days. Painkillers, anti-inflammation and antibiotics are given from clinic. After the bandages and surgical bra have been removed, your doctor may suggest that you wear a push-up bra for 2 months to prevent big scar or keloid formation.

Breast Lifting with Breast Implantation
Good candidates for breast lift surgery:
If you have one or more of the following conditions:
- Breasts that are pendulous, but of satisfactory size
- Breasts that lack substance or firmness
- Nipples and areolas that point downward, especially if they are positioned below the breast crease
Things that you need to know:
-
Breasts that are large and heavy can be lifted, but the results may not be as long-lasting as when the procedure is done on smaller breasts.
-
A breast lift can be performed at any age, but we usually recommend waiting until breast development has stopped.
-
Pregnancy and breast-feeding may have significant and unpredictable effects on the size and shape of your breasts. Nevertheless, many women decide to undergo breast lift surgery before having children and feel that they can address any subsequent changes later.
-
Since the milk ducts and nipples are left intact, breast lift surgery usually will not affect your ability to breast-feed.
-
Push-up bras is necessary to wear whole day after operation for at least 6 months to reduce tension at the wounds and support ur breasts to prevent recurrent sagging.
Results & Duration:
Breast lift surgery will make your breasts firmer and more uplifted.
Normally, the incisions from your breast lift surgery will heal and fade over time. It is important to realize, however, that the incision lines will be permanently visible. In some instances, they will eventually be only faint lines. Certain individuals may have incision lines that are more noticeable. Fortunately, the incisions for your breast lift are in locations easily concealed by clothing, even low-cut necklines.
Unless you gain or lose a significant amount of weight or become pregnant, your new breast shape should remain fairly constant. However, gravity and the effects of aging will eventually alter the size and shape of virtually every woman's breasts. If, after a period of years, you again become dissatisfied with the appearance of your breasts, you may choose to undergo a second breast lift procedure to restore their more youthful contour and appearance.
